I’m sure it probably hasn’t escaped your attention that we’re pretty big fans of Cascine Records around here, I mean it is pretty understandable when you realise they stand behind the likes of Jensen Sportag and Selebrities. Having recently added Southern Shores to their consistently gleaming, sophisticated, ambient identity with the release of the band’s Atlantic EP, it just keeps getting better.
With previous SOTD ‘Night Is Young’ introducing Southern Shores as a charming, hazy pop outfit, their latest effort ‘Bonfire’ adds swaying calypso rhythms into the mix of 80s dream pop synths and saccharine sweet female vocals. Directed by Jordan Beard, the accompanying video features stunning, slow motion landscapes that seem to explore the power and beauty of nature through fiery volcanoes and crashing waves.
