Godspeed You! Black Emperor may have won this year’s Polaris Prize but they didn’t attend the ceremony, calling the gala “fucking insane” and saying that it “doesn’t serve the cause of righteous music at all”. Others among the shortlisted acts were more keen on the event, however, even performing live.
The ceremony, held on Monday night to mark the best in Canadian music, saw performances from the likes of Purity Ring, Metz, Metric and more. You can watch those, and the entire show, in the clip beneath.
Purity Ring perform at 1:11:06, Metric are at 1:57:40 and Metz at 3:42:00. Check it out, via Pitchfork.
