Back in late December, Patti Smith marked her 67th birthday with a special show at New York’s Webster Hall. Among some of her own classics, the singer also performed a cover of Rihanna’s “Stay”, what she dubbed as “the 2013 song of the year”.
The rendition can be streamed in the clip below, with Smith forgetting a few of the lyrics admittedly due to her own nerves. The night also saw her take on tracks by John Lennon and pay tribute to the late Lou Reed.
