Watch Marina & The Diamonds acoustic "I'm A Ruin" session
Marina & The Diamonds is sharing an acoustic session performance of latest single/'Froot of the month', "I'm A Ruin".
Stripping the track back to basics, she uses desolate keys and a rolling snare to underpin a bone-chilling vocal performance - if you thought the full electronic version was emotive, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
Speaking to ELLE about the video, where it was first aired, she said:
"We built our own infinity room in an abandoned warehouse in East London. We filmed it just before Christmas as part of my acoustic series. The acoustic versions give my voice room to breathe in a way that the full band versions don't. I think you can play with rhythm and tone in an interesting way. I enjoy the starkness of these versions."
You can read our in-depth interview with Diamandis here, where she speaks about killing off alter-ego Electra Heart, finding happiness, and the inner machinations of upcoming LP FROOT.
FROOT is out 6 April on Atlantic.
