Nowadays she may be pop’s most promising acts, with a number one single to her name already, but just a few years back Lorde was performing in a local Battle of the Bands competition – one that she didn’t even win.

Lorde represented her school, Belmont Intermediate, at the regional contest in 2009, finishing in third place. Her band at the time were named “Extreme”.
