“If you ever see someone standing next to me, know that they’re better than me in something,” Kanye West says as he began his closing speech at last night’s album playback event in New York for new record Yeezus.
Having confirmed that the likes of Daft Punk, Bon Iver and Hudson Mohawke feature on the release, Yeezy went on to thank uber-producer Rick Rubin for “finishing up the whole ship for us”.
Surprisingly, given the rapper’s tendency for on-stage rants, the whole thing was largely positive. ”I spent the whole time thinking ‘What would Rick Rubin do?’,” Kanye told a packed audience of journalists and star-studded names.
