Kanye West has been on our TV sets an unusual amount over the past weekend. After shunning mainstream media for the release of his new album Yeezus, the rapper has followed up a recent televised interview with his daughter’s grandmother with this sublime performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
West was originally scheduled to run through recent Yeezus single ‘Black Skinhead’, but instead performed the Nina Simone/TNGHT sampling ‘Blood on the Leaves’ to a back-drop of ‘Lynching Tree’ by Steve McQueen.
