With a career spanning six albums of expansive cinematic post-rock it is slightly surprising to learn that Explosions In The Sky have never before made an official music video. Their very first official video was premiered yesterday on Wired.com and was put together by Austin-based design studio Ptarmak, animator David Hobizal and illustrator Sissy Emmons for Take Care, Take Care, Take Care track ‘Last Known Surroundings.’ The end result sees more than eight entrancing minutes of howling guitars, geometric shapes that seem to map out the stars, crisp drums, delicate animation, hypnotic rhythms and pulsating landscapes.
