Watch Citizens! and AlunaGeorge performing in a jungle at Brazil's MECAFestival
MECAFestival, looated in four locations across Brazil, has just finished, but you can watch a clip of Citizens! and AlunaGeorge performing and pretend you were there.
Among the events was a free event at Inhotim - others were held in a military hangar in Sao Paulo, a lakeside farm in Maquiné and an abandoned train station in Rio - which is "South America's biggest contemporary art gallery and sculpture garden." The complex is also host to a series of "pavilions and galleries with works of art and sculptures on display in the open air." Basically, the likes of La Roux, AlunaGeorge and Citizens! played in an art gallery in a jungle. Awesome.
The whole festival was created by two graphic designers looking to showcase international music to Brazilian fans, and it's going from stength to strength each year, doubling in size from 2014 to 2015.
Speaking about the Inhotim show, Citizens! said:
"Normally January is cold and dark and lacking in anything to listen to except the sound of people complaining how cold and dark it is. Luckily we were asked by the wonderful people at MECA festival to join them for half the month to play some amazing parties with AlunaGeorge, La Roux, and whole load of other mad beautiful people across Brazil. All tours should be this much fun. Sun, sand, songs, and a 5000 acre tropical sculpture park as one of the venues. The only problem is, february has turned into a massive come down. Can we go back?"
