Villagers win Irish Album of the Year for Awayland
Conor O’Brien-led folk outfit Villagers have won the Irish Album of the Year for 2013, taking away the prize for recent effort Awayland.
Awayland, which was also nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize, beat the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Little Green Cars, O Emperor and more to the award. The band take away a cash prize of €10,000 for the feat.
