Velvet Underground to re-release self-titled third record on 6 CD set

The Velvet Underground are to release their self-titled third record on six-disc deluxe edition, featuring a plethora of unreleased material, including from their unreleased 1969 fourth album.

The collection features various mixes of the record from Lou Reed & Co., as well as the album they recorded in 1969 to escape a record contract with MGM. Some of the songs were used in other capacities, but these mixes are previously unheard to the public ear.

It will be released 24 November on Polydor.
