The Velvet Underground will celebrate the 45th anniversary of 1968′s White Light/White Heat with its re-release later this year.
The seminal New York band will reissue the record as a 3-disc boxset come 2 December. It’ll include remastered audio, bonus tracks and previously unreleased material.
As Pitchfork note, both Lou Reed and John Cale had creative input in the reissue. “No one listened to it ,” frontman Reed told Rolling Stone of the record. “But there it is forever–the quintessence of articulate punk. And no one goes near it.”
