Vampire Weekend confirm new album release for May
Vampire Weekend will release their third album this coming May.
Making the announcement that they’ve finished recording their LP today via their official website, the record will drop on 6 May (UK)/7 May (U.S).
The indie fourpiece will follow-up 2010′s Contra with THIS new effort produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Usher, Charli XCX, Glasser).
Singer Ezra Koenig recently spoke to Q Magazine about the story behind the yet-untitled LP:
“We created some characters on the first record, some of which are real people, some of which are ourselves, so it’s not so hard to keep following them and see what their concerns are now and how their lives have changed.”
Koenig also revealed the record will have a more “dark” and “organic” sound.
Contra reached top spot in the U.S and #3 in the UK.
