Universal Music has decided to pull its entire music catalogue from TikTok rival video app Triller.
Triller, considered as a rival to TikTok, allows users to create short-form videos, often set to music.
Today (5 February), Universal Music Group has pulled its huge music catalogue from Triller.
According to Music Business Worldwide, a spokesperson for Universal said, "We will not work with platforms that do not value artists. Triller has shamefully withheld payments owed to our artists and refuses to negotiate a license going forward."
They added, "We have no alternative except to remove our music from Triller, effective immediately."
LA-based Triller are yet to respond to Universal’s decision to pull its music catalogue.
