UK female-focused music publication TGA Magazine launches
Female-focused music website, The Girls Are have launched a spin-off magazine, releasing their first issue in December.
The quarterly publication, which stands as one of the only UK magazines dedicated to women in music along with the likes of Wears The Trousers, mark their inaugural outing with features on cover stars Warpaint, Kim Gordon, Micachu, Sky Larkin, THEESatisfaction and more. It’ll include contributions from journalists published by NME, The Guardian and other publications.
The magazine promises to “profile the most exciting women in music, covering emerging talent, established icons and industry innovators” as well as “offer an alternative perspective”. Editor Annette Barlow says: “Historically, music magazines have been skewed from and for a male perspective. But that’s not reflective of their potential audience.”
