UK digital download sales pass 1 billion mark

Following news earlier today that vinyl sales are the strongest they’ve been since 1997, it turns out the digital market isn’t doing so bad either – with the 1 billionth digital download single sold in the UK yesterday (8 April).
The Official Charts Company made the announcement via an infographic – which you can view below. It reveals that 1 billion tracks have been downloaded since records began in 2004, also showing how digital sales have grown and what the top 20 most-downloaded tracks are. (Spoiler: Of course top spot went to Adele.)
