With approximately 800,000 employees out of work due to the current government shutdown in the States, many gig venues have come together for a ticket scheme to help those workers out of pocket and with a lot of time of their hands.
As Pitchfork report, several places in Washington, D.C have offered a buy-one-get-one-free deal to those affected, including shows at Merriweather Post Pavilion, 9:30 Club, U Street Music Hall and Lincoln Theatre involving Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, Andrew W.K., Marky Ramone, Pharrell Williams, Waka Flocka Flame and more.
