Tyler the Creator says Kanye West is his “only friend” in the music industry
Everyone may have thought that Kanye West and Jay Z are the BFFs of rap, but it turns out to be a bromance triangle of sorts – with Odd Future de-facto head-honcho Tyler the Creator describing Kanye in interview as his “only friend” in music.
Speaking to Italian ‘zine PTWSCHOOL, the LA hip-hop star is quoted as calling West “one of the only few people in this industry that I consider a friend”, saying that they talk at least “once a week”.
“We both have a love for art and we hate a lot of the same things,” Tyler continued in the video interview before explaining that Kanye didn’t feature on his recent album because there was simply no place “creatively” that he would fit. ”We’re most likely to have things in the future to come,” he added.
He also gave a mixed review on Yeezus, saying that there were a handful of tracks he loved and a few he didn’t, but said that it was a record to grow on you.
Tyler released his latest album Wolf earlier this year. Watch the full video interview below:
