Tyler The Creator arrested for inciting a riot at SXSW
Odd Future de-facto leader Tyler The Creator has reportedly been arrested by police in Austin after he allegedly “incited a riot” during one of his shows at SXSW.
SPIN reported on the incident taking place at the Converse stage on Thursday, describing the rapper as shouting “PUSH PUSH PUSH” to queuing fans even after the show reached “triple” its capacity.
“Hundreds of people came rushing through the gates. I happened to be directly in their path when they did, and it felt like being hit with a wave,” the author of the article goes on to state.
Police have accused Tyler of “encourag behavior causing an immediate danger and injury to persons”. He was allegedly being held on a $3,500 bond, but recent tweets suggest he’s since been released.
