Two jabs will be mandatory for nightclubs and other venues with "large crowds" from September
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that people will need to be fully vaccinated to enter nightclubs and other venues with "large crowds" by the end of September.
Following the latest lockdown restrictions being eased in England today (19 July), Boris Johnson has announced that by the end of September, nightclubs and other venues with "large crowds" will require proof of full vaccination to allow people entry.
At the moment, nightclubs and music venues are only encouraged to ask attendees for proof of vaccination, a negative test result or immunity.
Boris Johnson said during the press conference (via BBC), "I don't want to have to close nightclubs again as they have elsewhere. But it does mean nightclubs need to do the socially responsible thing."
He continued, "I can serve notice now that by the end of September when all over 18s will have had their chance to be double jabbed, we're planning to make full vaccination the condition of entry to nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather."
The UK PM added, "Proof of a negative test will no longer be enough."
