Twitter team up with Billboard for real-time music charts
The Billboard charts have announced a new partnership with social network Twitter for what they are calling the “Billboard Twitter Real-Time Charts”.
As the name suggests, the new charts will gather data from Twitter of what tracks users are listening to and talking about.
“The charts will reflect the top tracks being discussed at the moment and over an extended period of time on Twitter, as well as surface the most talked about and shared songs by new and upcoming acts,” Billboard say.
The charts will be available via both the Billboard website and Billboard’s Twitter page, with the company providing “custom in-Tweet charts and in-Tweet video round ups of the week in music on Twitter”.
The scheme will launch in the U.S over “the coming weeks”. Read more info here.
