Twin Sister's Andrea Estella to star in Veronica Mars movie
Andrea Estrella, vocalist for Long Island dream-poppers Twin Sister, is set make a venture into acting – with it announced that she’ll star in the new movie adaptation of cult TV show Veronica Mars.
The Veronica Mars movie project has been underway since a Kickstarter project launched last year, with Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester set to reprise her very small role of Carrie Bishop, who featured in two of the original episodes.
Meester has now had to pull out of the project due to other work commitments, with Estrella brought in to replace her.
Estrella said of the news:
“I watched the Veronica Mars pilot and was totally into it! It’s the exact kind of show I would get obsessed with, so it’s been a bit of dream to be in a movie, especially being a messed-up rock princess. How could I say no? I think the VM fans are going to be very happy!”
Veronica Mars initially ran from 2004-2006, with Kristen Bell playing the eponymous lead character.
