Tupac biopic movie to start filming in February
After much delay, a biopic film based on the life of late rapper Tupac ’2Pac’ Shakur is finally on its way.
The yet-unnamed movie based on Shakur, who died of gun wounds back in 1996, was originally talked about back in 2010, with scripts failing to be finalised. Now, however, the project has been handed over to Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft, with Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Morgan Creek Productions handling the filming, with production slated to start in February 2014.
Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur has cleared the rights for the film to use the rapper’s entire back-catalogue.
In other Tupac news, a Broadway play inspired by the hip-hop star is also in the works.
