Toro Y Moi announces new album What For?, shares lead single "Empty Nesters"
Chaz Bundick had a bit of a busy 2014, what with the release of his debut LP as side project Les Sins, but somehow he found time to craft a new Toro Y Moi record.
It's called What For? and is released 6 April via Car Park.
He's also shared "Empty Nesters", the lead single from the follow-up to 2013's Anything In Return, which is a hooky bout of weird fuzz-rock and tangy pop-psych. Big guitar riffs are littered throughout "Empty Nesters", and the fervent pace implies garage-y inspirations - there's a sweet disco breakdown too. It's a huge statement from Bundick, and again he makes a drastic 90-degree angle away from prior exploits.
