Titus Andronicus working on “30-song rock opera” about manic depression for next album
Titus Andronicus frontman Patrick Stickles has confirmed that the band are gearing on to a new album release, with the record looking to be something out of the ordinary, what the singer calls a ”30-song rock opera” inspired by Nietzsche.
The LP will be the band’s fourth to date, following on from 2012′s Local Business. It will, Stickles says, lean more towards 2010′s The Monitor than anything else the group have done, replacing the American Civil War concept of that record for one more personal.
As Pitchfork note, Stickles has said that the record – tentatively scheduled for according to an already existing pre-order page - will philosophical and psychological literature and the connection between manic depression and creativity.
The singer also discusses with the Missoulian how he’d like to incorporate film into the project, quoted as saying there could be “33 music videos for 33 songs”.
