This year's Somerset House Summer Series is looking pretty great
Sigrid, Metronomy, Jorja Smith, and MGMT are among the names confirmed for this year's Somerset House Summer Series.
The run of shows - taking place 5 to 15 July - also features Flight Facilities, De La Soul, Róisín Murphy, The Roots, LP, David Rodigan and The Outlook Orchestra, and Don Letts Presents Bass Forward (ft. Wiley, Congo Natty, Norman Jay MBE, and Jazzie B).
As well as all the glorious noises from the announced artists (and as-yet-unannounced support acts), there's set to be a special exhibition showcasing The Influence Project, a series of portraits of leading figures in the worlds of R&B, funk, soul, Afrobeat, and hip-hop. London-based photographer Alexis Chabala and producer Lorayne Crawford have assembled shots of icons such as George Clinton and Candi Station and contemporary stars such as Laura Mvula and Aloe Blacc and look to "investigate the connections between these established and emerging pioneers, reaching across time to shape the sound that we hear today."
The Influence Project is open in the East Wing Galleries between 27 June and 22 August. Entry is free.
