Wildhearts frontman to reach Top 10 with fan-funded release
The Wildhearts singer, Ginger is currently occupying the top ten with a fan-funded release, according to sources.
The Associated Press reports that the former frontman of the British rock outfit is beating the likes of Rihanna and Coldplay in mid-week charts with his new solo LP.
His latest album 100% currently sits at number 9 in the UK album charts after the musician received enough pledges from fans to fund the record.
Ginger had this to say:
“This chart entry marks a historic change in the way bands and artists can release music direct to their fans, afford quality production values and actually make a living too.”
The singer raised £200,000 in just hours after posting on the PledgeMusic website. More info can be found here.
