The Weeknd shakes up his formula with "False Alarm"
Canadian R&B titan Abel Tesfaye - aka The Weeknd - has rapidly followed up his "Starboy" banger with new single "False Alarm".
"False Alarm" is the second single to be shared from Tesfaye's upcoming Beauty Behind The Madness follow up Starboy. We've already heard the shimmering lead single/title track, which features dance icons Daft Punk, but this new offering adds an intriguing dimension to Tesfaye's lates incarnation - it's stuffed with high-energy vocals, '90s hamornies, Yeezus-y yelps, and drum and bass tones. It's more full-on pop than silky-smooth noir&B.
The newly released video is utterly crazy, with lots of violence and blood and stunts and shooting. It follows a bank robber attempting to make his getaway, and as you might expect given the mayhem-strewn soundtrack from Tesfaye, it's a non-stop bombardment of chaos and bullets. Ilya Naishuller directs.
