The Weeknd gets machine to sign $200 'Trilogy' boxsets
As previously reported, The Weeknd’s brilliant Trilogy of mixtapes was reissued last week as a 6-disc vinyl boxset.
Priced at a hefty $199.99, the collection’s value was excused when it was revealed that the release would be limited to just 500 signed copies.
However, as SPIN point out, they don’t appear to have been autographed by Abel Tesfaye himself. Instead, it seems that a machine was used to print a copy of The Weeknd’s signature on the album art.
Seeing as the original press release reads ”signed and individually hand-numbered six-vinyl record set”, should we simply assume that the numbering was the only thing done by hand?
Check out the rather identical signatures below:
- Bruce Springsteen shares "Sunday Love" from lost album, Twilight Hours
- Stones Throw to reissue Haruomi Hosono's 1975 album, Tropical Dandy
