The Weeknd has made huge $300,000 donation to Global Aid for Lebanon, which provides vital aid to the victims of last week's explosion in Beirut.

Over the past couple of months, The Weeknd has made a number of donations to various organisations. He split a $1million donation between two COVID-19 relief funds, and provided $500,000 to organisations working for racial equality.

His latest donation of $300,000 is going to Global Aid for Lebanon, following last week's devastating explosion which killed more than 200 people.

The Weeknd's donation was confirmed by his manager Wassim "Sal" Slaiby on Instagram. Slaiby wrote, "I am so honored and humbled to work with artists who have such deep care for the world and right now for our brothers & sisters of Lebanon who are in pain and need our collective help. I want to thank my brother The Weeknd for his generous and class act of donating $300,000 to the Global Aid for Lebanon campaign."

Slaiby also revealed that Live Nation's CEO Michael Rapino donated $50,000 to Global Aid for Lebanon.
