The Strokes have “no plans” to tour, says bassist
With their new record out next month, it seemed strange that The Strokes hadn’t announced any tour dates let alone summer festival appearances. And now the band’s bassist has said there’s “no current plans” to tour.
Band member Nikolai Fraiture spoke to Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 over the weekend and revealed that there’s no current dates in place for a tour supporting forthcoming LP Comedown Machine. Fraiture did however add that he’d “love to tour”.
The bassist continued to say that while the New York group “hashed out all together like the good old days”, things don’t seem as natural as they used to.
“It’s kind of funny that new music doesn’t feel as natural as it used to but for us, posting it when it is done feels like that is the way it should be done. When you make music you go up down, sometimes you feel strong and sometimes you feel scared. Right now, we just finished the album and I feel good about it and the atmosphere in the band. Hopefully it continues.”
The Strokes will release the new record on 26 March.
