[Download] The Silent League: “Here's A Star EP”
IT IS TIME FOR THE SILENT LEAGUE TO RETURN.
This FREE EP of orchestral pop is the first official release from the elusive Brookyln Godfather’s third album. But You’ve Always Been The Caretaker is released through Something In Construction on May 10th. Rough Trade are selling the album upfront exclusively as a handsomely packaged two disc set (CD2 is stuffed with remixes, live tracks, covers, and rarities). It is also available at a low price on iTunes.
The Silent League are very much in thrall to David Bowie and ELO, this new record is a huge step forward/outward/inward sonically and in terms of song-writing. Self produced, the record is mastered intentionally quietly to allow space for their frankly insanely beautiful and beautifully insane arrangements to fill your speakers.
The Silent League’s Hunky Dory-ish single “Here’s A Star” is taken out into the night here by Neon Indian, Helado Negro and Prequel.
We’re offering the entire 4-Track EP as a free download below.

Whilst you’re waiting for the mp3′s to zoom down your telephone line, check out the video for “Here’s A Star” – directed by Art Boonpan, helmer of The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart’s clips, it’s a hazy memory of a grand day out at the seaside.
