Just A Number 05272011 reveal themselves as Battlekat, play first show
After months of speculation Just A Number 05272011 have announced their official name: Battlekat.
It’s been public knowledge for a week or two that the Copenhagen based quartet – led by the seductive Matilde – were to mark their live debut this weekend at Scandinavia’s premier music conference SPOT but that’s just about all the information anyone had.
So what do we now know? Well, they’ve literally just come off stage – playing to a packed Voxhall in central Aarhus – seducing the audience with five songs of noir-pop wonderment; confident, sassy and cool as hell. ‘Business’, ‘He Didn’t Want A Love Song’ and ‘The Pain’ all aired alongside three brand new, as-yet unheard tracks including ‘Into The Forest’.
The band, signed to Danish / London based label Good Tape (home to Bodebrixen, Murder and TLOBF favourites Hymns Of Nineveh) will be playing a handful of European festivals this summer including Roskilde on 29 June. Check the Battlekat Facebook page for full live listings.
