The Roots’ Black Thought has revealed he’s working on a “blues” solo record, with a little help from some famous friends.
The musician, real name Tariq Trotter, told Uber Urban: “I just started writing a couple of weeks ago for a blues album kinda that I’m going to be singing on. I don’t know what it’s gonna be called, but it might be called The Talented Mr. Trotter.”
Black Thought also confirmed that TV On The Radio singer Tunde Adebimpe, Jim James of My Morning Jacket and singer Raheem DeVaughn will all feature on the recordings.
The Roots, on the other hand, will release a collaborative LP with Elvis Costello later this year.
