Avant-garde and surrealist art group, The Residents have long courted a cult-like fanbase. So much so, that a pretty much definitive boxset from the band recently sold for $100,000.
The Ultimate Box Set was announced back in December, collecting first pressings of the group’s entire back-catalogue and more, all held in a stainless steel refrigerator.
The release was given the ambitious $100,000 price tag and not much had been heard since, but now a Bloomington, Indiana resident going by the name “Tripmonster” has gathered the cash and bought the entire thing.
