The Orb to release album with David Gilmour
Just had a heads up about this over at Brain Damage (a semi-official Floyd blog). It seems as though The Orb are to release a full album with Pink Floyd guitarist and songwriter David Gilmour.
Coming out in October, the album entitled Metallic Spheres was a product of Dr Alex Paterson and Gilmour jamming in the studio with the producer Youth. The original sessions were set up when the trio were recording an ambient mix of the track ‘Chicago’ to help raise awareness of the plight of Gary McKinnon. In fact, all royalties from the album are going to help Gary McKinnon’s campaign against his extradition.
