The Rhode Island four-piece The Low Anthem have announced their second Bella Union/Nonesuch release is due out February 21 2011. Recorded in an abandoned factory on the band’s home turf, Smart Flesh is set to follow the swelling folk harmonies of 2009’s breakthrough album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin.
The recording space, the array of instruments and the band’s experimental techniques have apparently resulted in some chilling moments that resonate throughout the album. If the songs within come anywhere close to the stunning soundscapes of previous efforts Smart Flesh is sure to be one of the most hotly anticipated releases of the spring.
