The Kunts land in top five on Official UK Christmas midweek chart
The Kunts' second Christmas number one campaign with "Boris Johnson Is Still A F*cking C*nt" seems to be going well, as the track is already at number five on the Official UK Christmas midweek chart.
Last week The Kunts' launched their second consecutive Christmas number one campaign with another Boris Johnson protest track titled "Boris Johnson Is Still A F*cking C*nt".
The group's first single, "Boris Johnson Is A F*cking C**t", reached number five in the Christmas Singles chart last year after being backed by Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker, and in the midweek charts announced by the UK Official Charts Company yesterday (19 December), The Kunts' second Christmas single has already reached number five.
According to the Official Charts Company, "Boris Johnson Is Still A F*cking C*nt" is is the second-most downloaded song of the week so far, and will be going up against other Christmas singles from LadBaby, Ed Sheeran and Elton John, Mariah Carey and George Ezra before the 2021 UK Christmas number one is announced on Friday (24 December).
The Kunts' new song, according to Kunt, who spoke to NME, samples The KLF's "Doctorin’ The Tardis", uses the same "tempo and rhythm as Depeche Mode‘s "Personal Jesus"", and closes with "The Addams Family theme on the end because it’s a song you hear a lot without realising it, on piers and in arcades, and there isn’t a more irritating ear-worm."
