The Flaming Lips and Wild Beasts announced for End of the Road Festival; 50 more bands also revealed
The first line-up announcements for this year’s End of the Road Festival are in, with headline slots taken by the UK’s very own Wild Beasts and legendary Oklahomans The Flaming Lips.
The announcements come via a video for the festival, which you can watch above, and includes a further 49 bands including John Grant, Yo La Tengo, The Horrors, Hookworms, Perfume Genius, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, White Denim and Mark Kozelek. A full list can be found below.
“I am very excited to have finally got The Flaming Lips, one of the best live bands in the world today, playing End of the Road on Saturday night,” says Festival founder Simon Taffe. “It’s also a great honour to have Wild Beasts back to play a headline spot, plus some of the most interesting live bands around at the moment – White Denim, John Grant, Yo La Tengo and many more.”
The festival runs at Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset from 29-31 August and more bands are set to be announced in the coming months. Best Fit will be working closely with the festival again this year to plot secret shows and events around the site. Last year saw the likes of Frightened Rabbit and Money perform impromptu sets in the forest and Efterklang and Braids squaring up with festival goers for ping pong and kubb.”
