The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster split… again
Brighton garage-punk outfit, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster have disbanded again, less than a year after deciding to reform.
The group originally broke up back in 2011, with the members pursuing other projects, before getting back together in May 2012.
Now, this news of their latest split comes via The Great Escape festival, who write on their Facebook page:
“Today TGE HQ received the sad news that The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster has disbanded just days before they were due to bring the house down this Saturday at Coalition. According to a statement from the band, a shared musical common ground couldn’t be found and they apologise for any disappointment caused by cancelling upcoming shows.”
The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster were reportedly writing and recording a new album, their fourth to date.
