As previously reported, there’s a possibility that we’ll get to see the closest thing to a The Doors reunion soon, with former drummer John Densmore patching things up with guitarist Robby Krieger.
Densmore has been holding hopes for a live reunion of sorts with the other surviving member of the legendary psych-rock group lately, speaking in interview to Rolling Stone recently about the possibility of a one-off show. Now, it seems this has been confirmed, with Billboard writing that they will shortly team up live for “at least one last time”.
Despite experiencing legal issues with each other in recent years, the pair say the death of Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek influenced their reconciliation.
“I can’t hate him forever,” Krieger told the publication. “I just wish he had wanted to play with Ray and I before this all started.” He continued: ”We are going to do at least one show for Ray and have a big send off. That’s either the start of it or the end of it, I don’t know.”
Densmore and Krieger have not played live together since the ’70s.
