The Civil Wars' Joy Williams recording new solo album

Joy Williams, best known as one half of folk duo The Civil Wars, is set to release a new solo LP.

The singer, who recently teamed up with The National’s Matt Berninger for a track, has posted the recording of an unheard song to Facebook.

“Started recording a solo album yesterday,” she wrote. “Butterflies. Bittersweet. Mostly sweet.”

Civil Wars’ most recent self-titled LP was released in 2013.
