The Cardinals' Neal Casal has passed away aged 50
The Cardinals' Neal Casal died yesterday (26 August) aged 50.
The guitarist, singer/songwriter, and photographer recorded three albums with The Cardinals between 2005 and 2009, and released 12 solo albums from 1995 to 2011.
Casal was also part of Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Hard Working Americans, The Skiffle Players, and Circles Around the Sun.
A tweet on Casal's official account reads, "It’s with great sadness that we tell you Neal Casal has passed. As so many know, Neal was a gentle, soulful human who lived life through artistry & kindness. His family, friends & fans will always remember the light that he brought to the world. Rest easy Neal, we love you."

His last solo album, Sweeten the Distance, was released in 2011.
