Taking their cues from Daft Punk’s stint having their own Formula 1 car, The Black Keys have decided to go their other way a bit – sponsoring an entire little league baseball team.
The band’s drummer, Patrick Carney used to be a member of the West Akron Baseball League, now the ‘West Akron Black Keys’, in his Ohio hometown and has a friend whose little brother plays for the team. It only seemed natural, then, for the band to put up the $300 cash sponsor when the team were after funding for new kits.
