The Beatles to be made available on streaming services on Christmas Eve?
According to Billboard, the Fab Four could be made available on streaming services by the end of the week.
The Beatles are pretty much the biggest artist not available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime, Deezer, Tidal, Rhapsofy, Slacker, or any other streaming service. They only went on iTunes back in 2010.
But it looks like this ongoing resistance could be ending, with Billboard reporting that the services will be getting one of the most sought after back catalogues on Christmas Eve (24 December).
There's a lot of gossip but little hard evidence that this is actually gonna happen. Even the go-live date isn't set in stone (only a "strong indication").
However, rumours about a "six month 'exclusive'" for one unnamed major player have now "fizzled out", with "Sources with knowledge of the negotiations" now claiming that "most, if not all, will have access to the band's catalog of studio albums next week".
The Beatles' music is already available on Pandora due to the licensing regulations surrounding Internet radio.
