Despite Mike Love having kicked out half their members, The Beach Boys have announced details of a new boxset release.
Made in California will be released on 27 August via Capitol and includes six CDs of unreleased songs, demo versions, alternate takes and live recordings.
“This box set captures the evolution of a dream which started with a family singing Everly Brothers songs around a piano, to creating the harmonies that fans would carry in their hearts for a lifetime,” says Love, who know solely owes the rights to the band’s name and legacy.
Meanwhile, the band’s songwriter Brian Wilson recently announced that he’s working on a new solo album.
