With their rumoured second album release becoming more of a myth than a probability nowadays, Aussie group The Avalanches have contributed a track to the score for an upcoming stage version of King Kong.
King Kong: The Musical is set to open in Melbourne next month, with The Avalanches offering up a cover of Harold Arlen / Ted Koehler classic ‘Get Happy’. Sitting alongside Justice, Massive Attack and Elbow, the group’s addition to the soundtrack can be heard at the 1:58 mark in the trailer below.
The Avalanches released their debut Since I Left You in 2000, with a follow-up reportedly in the works ever since.
