Talking comic books with Eva Hendricks from Charly Bliss
We shoot the shit about why comic books are great with the effervescent frontwoman of Brooklyn power-pop band Charly Bliss for the latest Talk The Line podcast.
Comics and animation are a big part of Charly Bliss. Guitarist Spencer was the voice of Dash in the massive 2004 movie The Incredibles and earlier this year the band published a companion comic book to debut album Guppy. The book features the likes of musician Sadie Dupuis (Speedy Ortiz/Sad13), illustrator Tuesday Bassen and comic artist Michael Deforge interpreting different tracks.
Host Jen Long is joined by guitarist and vocalist Eva Hendricks to talk about just why comics are such a big part of her life, with nods to the Hernandez Brothers, Marvel, Josie & the Pussycats, and Harry Potter.
