
T-Pain reveals Usher once told him he "fucked up music for real singers" because of Auto-Tune
T-Pain has revealed that Usher once had a conversation with him about how T-Pain "fucked up music for real singers" because of Auto-Tune.
In a new clip from Netflix's This Is Pop series, T-Pain discussed the moment that started a four-year depression for him, revealing that it was a conversation that he had with Usher on a plane to the 2013 BET Awards.
T-Pain revealed he was woken up by a flight attendant who told him Usher wanted to speak with him. T-Pain said that after getting through some small talk, Usher told him, "You kinda fucked up music."
He continued, "I didn't understand, Usher was my friend. He was like, "Yeah man you really fucked up music for real singers". Literally at that point, I couldn't listen. Is he right? Did I fuck up music?"
T-Pain added, "That is the very moment - and I don't think I even realised this for a long time - that's the very moment that started a four-year depression for me."
