Susanna announces new album inspired by Charles Baudelaire

11 January 2022, 14:19 | Written by Cerys Kenneally

Susanna is back with news of her forthcoming Charles Baudelaire-inspired album Elevation, and has shared the opener "Alchemy of Suffering" as the first preview of the record.

"Alchemy of Suffering", inspired by Baudelaire's poem of the same name, is Susanna's first new material since last year's Live collaborative covers album with David Wallumrød, and is teamed with a video by CLOAK/DAGGER.

Elevation, much like 2020's Baudelaire & Piano, is inspired by the works of French poet Charles Baudelaire, and is, according to Susanna, a "time travelling" project. She also described the album as "an intuitive and collective ceremony of the ethereal and mystical in life."

Tracklist:

  1. Alchemy of Suffering
  2. Ciel Brouillé
  3. Rose-Pale Dawn
  4. L’aube Spirituelle
  5. Elevation

  10. Le Vin Des Amants

"Alchemy of Suffering" is out now. Susanna's Elevation album will land via SusannaSonata on 25 March.
